Christmas Ribbons

Sometimes, the best decorative elements are the ones that are most often overlooked. Take Christmas ribbon, for instance. An excellent product for use in gift wrapping, Christmas ribbon is also an outstanding home decoration tool. Inexpensive, colorful and beautiful, Christmas ribbon can turn an otherwise dull room into a space that welcomes the holidays. All it takes is a little imagination!

The great thing about Christmas ribbon is that it makes standard household items more festive. Take candles, for instance. A trio of white pillar candles isn't necessarily Christmas festive. Tie a thick velvet red ribbon around the center of each one, however, and the entire collection will suddenly take on a holiday flavor.

The Christmas tree is another great place where holiday ribbon can be utilized creatively. Gold ribbon looks especially beautiful on Christmas trees. One of our favorite ideas is to take a thick and multi-yard spool of gold wire ribbon and cut it into several pieces, each one a different length. With one piece, tie a beautiful bow and attach it to the top of the tree. Then attach the remaining pieces to the bow as strings, and drape them dramatically lengthwise about the limbs.
